Following on the defeat of Budeny, the Bolsheviks are counter-attacking bet-ween Vladimir and Zaiur-oe',* and further south. The Poles repulsed attacks, but their line has been slightly withdrawn. POLES IN GALICIA. MILITARY MEASURES AS A PROTEST. MOSCOW, September 0. • A Vienna telegram states that as a protest agaimst the occupation of Eastern Gaiioia by. the Poles,' a fully-. equipped cavalry division composed of Galiciahs and Ukrainians, under General Pavlenko, who has been, actively engaged in fighting the Bolsheviks, has crossed into Czecho-Slovakia awl has been interned. POLISH TRAITORS. REPORTED INTRIGUE IN PRUSSIA. COPENHAGEN, September 6. The "Voesische Zeitung's" Posen correspondent states that reserve troops occupied the railway station and other buildings in Graudenz, with the object of driving out the Poles, but the Polish cavalry took prisoner four hundred men. who will be charged with treason. An early rising is expected among eight thousand troops in Posen, where the. Polish leader, Dmowsky, is stated to have been .plotting a coup d'etat against the Warsaw Government.

It'ia reported that hostilities between Poland and Lithuania have rirtually ceased, and that peace negotiations are being arranged.(Received September 7, 7.30 p.m.) LONDON, September 6. The "Morning Post's" Warsaw correspondent s.aye that tho Polish Foreign Office admits tho receipt of a truculent Note from the military party in Lithuania, but declares that no war has been declared. The most amicable relations are being maintained witb the Lithuanian civil Government. AN EARLIER MESSAGE. LONDON, September 6. It is reported that negotiations foi the rearrangement of the frontier and for the future relations between Poland and Lithuania w«>re broken off owing to the outbreak of hostilities. Each side-accuses tho other of oro6sing the frontier. Pol>sh. circles in London assert'that the Poles only occupied territories recognised as Polish by the SuEreme Council, and complain ithuania i» being used as a ground by the ited armies.
