BOYS' INSTITUTE

CHURCH PARADE.

The members of the 17th Company, Institute Cadets, together with the Boy Scouts and other members of the Wellington Boys' Institute attended Divine Service at St. John's Church on Sunday morning. Headed by the.drum and trumpet band the senior cadets, Boy Scouts, and footballers of the institute, march' ed to St. John's Church, where they were received by. the president, Mr G. A. Troup. Mr J. W. Butler, director, was in charge of the parade, Lieutenant W. W. Button commanding the cadets, with Lieutenant F. H. O. Smith second in command, Bandmaster A. Iremonger in charge of the bugle hand, and Assistant Scoutmaster Crane had control'of tho Scouts.

The Rev. H. W. ,*Burridge, M.A., 8.D., delivered a strirring address to the hoys, talrine as his subject, "How he got his wings," with special reference to the aeroplane flight on Saturday last. Tho speaker compared the remarkable control, which the pilot had over his machine to that of a lad who could control his temper under all circumstances. Thei text of tho sermon was "How waste' became wealth," in which special reference was made to the work of the institute, which he • said was doing such a' great work on behalf of the hoys of tho city. "The speaker advised the congregation to visit the institute and see for themselves the work that Is being done. The institution being a undenominational the parade next year will ho held at the church of another denomination.
