SEASIDE TRAGEDY
FUNERAL STOPPED BY POLICE,
TWO MEN ARRESTED.
The funeral qf Irene Monro, whoso body was discovered lit Eastbourne, was stopped by the police. No explanation was offered.
A letter found on the girl's (belong, injrs indicated that she was on friendly terms with o man Bhe met occasionally in London, and who is known to have dined with her in Soho. It is now believed that the crime was hot committed on the impulse of the moment, but that the motive was jealousy. Two young men have been detained in connection- with the Eastbourne murder
A messn.ge previously received stated that tho body of Irene Monro, a young and -pretty London typisto, was "discovered buried in a lonely part_ of tho beach at Eastbourne, with terrible injuries:*- Her handbag containing money and jewellery was missing.
