Mr Ross, challenger for the America Cup, in an interview, said the people of Canada were enthusiastic about the challenger. It was proposed to make a propaganda tfirip from coast to coast, organising "Mapleleaf Clubs" everywhere for raising the .necessary funds. The yacht would be schoonev-riggod and of the "Fisherman" type, entirely Canadian in "design and construction, and manned and commanded by Canadian fishermen and it would be able to go offshore in any weather. Mr Ross explained that the -plan to employ Mr Nicholson (Sir Thomas Lipton's designer) had been changed, because he insisted that too much of the work on the challenger should foe dono in England. *
