DETAILS OF QUEEN'S CLUB CONTESTS'. Keuter's Telejrram. LONDON, September 4. Withdrawals at the last moment from the teams which competed at the Queen's Club included Paddock (America), owing to illness, and A. G. Hill, of the British Olympic team, who was disabled. Hunt (Australia) was on the programme, but was replaced by the Air Force champion, Bergeant-Major Mawby. Oosterlaak (South Africa) was pitted against Kerksey (America.) in the opening stages of the half-mile relay. The South African led throughout, and "secured an advantage which all subsequent Americans vainly endeavoured to destroy against- the' Englishmen Butler and Mawby, and,the New Zealander Davidson. Davidson shot home 6 yards ahead. Thompson won the 120 yards hurdles 'by 11 yards. Wilson (New Zealand) did not compete. Rudd was first in .the two miles relay race, his time being 7min 53 l-ssec. It was a great race, in which Mountain (England) gave Rudd and Batton 30 yards to the good. Rudd raced away from Scott (America) as he liked, and won by 35 yards.
