LOCAL BODIES' OFFICERS
NEW ASSOCIATION FORMED
At Hawera, a largely-attended conference of executive officers of local bodies, representing engineers and clerks of boroughs, counties, hospital boards, town and road boards, throughout Taranaki and Wanganui, unanimously decided to form a Dominion Local Bodies' Executive Officers' Association. A representative committee of engineers and clerks was appointed, 1 and it is intended to circularise officers of all local bodies throughout the Dominion... Tho objects of' the new association include greater efficiency in local body administra. tion, adequate, payment for services, and recognition of responsibilities of officers.
