CHAOS IN TURKEY
SULTAN DESIRES PEACE. PUBLIC DISSATISFIED .WITH TREATY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received July 13, 10.30 p.m.) LONDON. July 12. Constantinople messages state that tlic Sultan, after an extraordinary meeting of Cabinet, expressed a desire that peace should be concluded immediately in order to end the state of chaos in the country. On the contrary public opinion opposes signing the Treaty in ita present form. The British have taken over supremo command; in Constantinople. A stern Not© has been sent to the Turkish Government demanding tho cessation of the dispatch of medical stores to Thrace in anticipation of a Greek advance.
