RUGBY REFEREES

WEEKLY MEETING OF , MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The weekly meeting of the management committee of the Wellington Rugby -Referees’ Association was. held last evening; Mr R. T. Bailey presiding, A motion given, notice of at the last meeting of tho association in regard to the rule applying to the constitution and duties of tho classification committee was'put to the meeting; After some discussion tho motion, with an amendment, was lost, and a further notice of motion was given to the following effect: —Tho classification committee shall consist cf one or more active or honorary members of this association, whoso duties shall bo to examine members of the association and intending members in the knowledge of the laws of tho game both in theory and in practice. It was decided that a sub-committee of , three members be set up to deal with tha annual fixture-with the Canterbury association, and to act as selection oommitee. Tho annual fixture between the Wellington association and the Canterbury association will be played in Wellington on September 4th.
