THIEVES AND FIRE
AN AUCKLANDER’S MISFORTUNE A store m Vauxhall road, Dcvonport, wan discovered to be afire ou Saturday night during the absence of tho occupier (says a Press Association message), .1. Knowling, and his family. The fire was extinguished speedily. It. wiiß then found that the premises had been entered by burglars, and that money and jewellery valued at 4120 wag missing. The evidences are of tho fire having been started among kapoc stored in a cupboard.
