RIFLE SHOOTING
CADETS’ OHALtLBNGE SH3EUD. The national shooting aompetitnon for the Imperial Challenge Shield, open to teams of cadets in all parte of the Empire, is attracting a good deal of attention in the Wellington iDdlence Group. The competition is held annually under the auspices of the National Hide Association, and has as its object the encouragement of every boy throughout the British Empire to learn how ito use a rifle. A total of 29 teams, comprising over 400 boys, have already entered for this year’s competion, which is to bo fired off on any shooting range before tho end of May. The size of the teams competing is restricted to a minimum of members, hut the strength above this number is regulated according' to the size of the unit represented. Units of 135 will supply teams of 15. As the strength of the teams therefore varies, tho position of each team in the prsielist will be decided not by tho total score made, but by tho average per member shooting.
