QUESTION OF DAVIDSON’S . SELECTION. AUCKLAND DEMANDS INFORMATION. PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, April 8, The Auckland Olympic Carnes Committee decided 'to-night to send a further telegram to the council demanding definite information as to whether G. D a vidsbu was to be selected to represent New Zealand, the delay wds interfering with subscriptions. It was reported that Miss Violet Walrond would not make the journey to Antwerp unless accompanied by her father, and advice was received that the idea of Mr Walrond accompanying his daughter would not be entertained unless the expenses were paid privately. Even then it was doubtful if he could accompany the team. It is not likely that Miss Walrond will go. It was decided not to circulate collection cards until something definite is known as to the final selection ol the team. ' ' . , . It was reported' ‘that promises of substantial subscriptions had been received, but these were conditional upon the selection of G. Davidson.
