AUSTRALIAN MUTUAL PROVIDENT SOCIETY

ANNUAL REPORT. This society has just issued its 71st annual report. The new business (sums assured) amounts to .£9 002,20 d ordinary, and £2,160,864 industrial, together, £11,663,117.. This is more than £2,000,000 in excess of the previous best. Death claims £1,690,309 ordinary and £30,773 industrial, are nearly’ £400,000 less than last year. Subscriptions to war and repatriation loans now exceed .£11,000,000., Bonuses are again increased, 5, the society dividing £1,197,112 ordinary and £32 766 industrial. Reversionary bonus additions exceed £2,000,000 for the first time. The rate of interest on mean funds is £5 Is 2d per cent. Total annual income is how nearly £6 000,000. The retiring 'directors are the Hon. R. J. Black and Sir Alexander MaoCormick, both, of whom are eligible for re-election. They and Mr Alex Jobson are candidates for the vacant seats. Mr T. -F. H Mackenzie' FCP A., the senior auditor, also retires, ‘blit is eligible for re-election, and is the only candidate for the vacant position. (Published by arrangement.) .
