PROSPECTS OF THE REGATTA. There is every probability that entries for the faster regatta (which cloae on Friday next) will be very good. Wapganui Union will be represented in every event, Waiteraata in all (the senior events' Canterbury is understood to have crvirs for all tho races below junior status, and Christchuroh Union may also be represented. The three local clubs will have entries ia all races excepxi senior grade. Owing to the fact that they have themselves arranged a regatta ait Easter, the Marlborough Clubs (Blenheim, Picton and Wairau) will not be represented, bulb entries' are likely to come from Avon, Clifton, Napier, Nelson, Wanganui and Aramoho- . Bacl weather is seriously hampering tho training of crews at the city end of ithe harbour, but Petone is making the best of the continued northeries. Mr R. Crawford has his junior and maiden four (Wellington Club) going very well now; he has also the training of several of their, other crews in hand, hut none of them compare in form with the maiden four, flie Star No. 2 maiden four, under Mr Galviri, is now swinging well, but nevertheless seem to Set very little pace out of the boat, while their No. 1 crew, under Mr Spurdle, is rougher, but if anything, more pace. In the maiden doubles, Wellington and Star (Marrls and • Montgomery) are working well., and are well together, while the other Star double (Pollock a.nd MitcneTl) are very much fancied.
