MEETING OT -TOUNCnr A meeting of the Lower Hutt 'Borough Council was held last night, the Mayor, Mr. E. E. Itishworth, ■ presiding. There were also present:—Messrs A. J. Hobbs, W. B. Hardy. W. Cotton, W. Meldrum, J. Mitchell, A. Macaskell. *v ■ It "was resolved that if the Iftugby Union does not avaifitSelT' of'th"6 council's offer in ’thfc'Recreation Ground within seven days, the Mayor ho empowered to accept a. proposal from the Hockey Association • for the.use. of .the ground during the ensuing season. . ■ , , ■ ' .. The town clerk was instructed to write to the Betone Borough -Council asking for its co-oneration with the object of improving the railway -crossing at 'the houndarv of Betone and the Lower Hutt V sum of .£lO was voted towards the funds of the Hutt Park Committee. ,
