SPORTS MEETING
PRESBYTERIAN BIBLE CLASSES. A very successful sports meeting was held by" the combined Presbyterian Young Men's Bible Classes al Karori Park oa Saturday afternoon. A largo number of entries were received for all events. Points were awarded to the classes whose representatives came first, second or third in each event and .at the end of the meeting the scores stood ws follow Kent terrace, 46 points; Kelburn, 37 points; St. John's, 34 points; St. James, 26 points. The winners in the principal ovema were; High jump—G. A. Nicholls, Kent terrace. .220yds open—Smyllio, St. John’s. 220yds junior—G. A. Nicholls, Kent terrace. Alile open—J. Johnston, Kent terrace, 1; D. Todd, St. James’s, 2; H. Brooker, St. James's, 3. Aide junior—Campbell, Kelburn, 1 j McClusItey, Kent terrace. 2; Swann, Kent terrace, 3. Long jump—Srayllie, St. John's. 100yds open—J. Johnston, Kent terrace. 100yds junior—Campbell. Kelburn. Throwing the cricket ball— R. Gapes, Kelburn. Half-mile open— Johnston. Kent terrace. Half-mile junior—Ctynpboll, . Kelburn. 440yds open—J. ' Johnston, Kent terrace. 440vds junior—Campbell, Kelburn. Throe mile—D. Todd, St James’s, 1; Bose, Kelburn, 2; L. Lovell, St. Johns, 3. Relay race —St. James’s, 1; Kent terrace, 2; St. John’s, 3. The meeting, which is an annual event, is becoming very popular, and Saturday’s gathering was very largely attended despite the distance from the city. Some very promising young athletes were among tho performers.
