INTERNATIONAL RUGBY
WALES DEFEATS ENGLAND. ("Times” London Correspondent.) LONDON, January 23. The first of the international Rugby football- matches, wfyiefi took place between the English and Welsh representatives at Swansea, was remarkable for the tact that Jerry Shea,, the Newport centre three-quarter, who played for Wales, scored sixteen ,of the nineteen points registered by his side. England led by a goal from a try to a penalty goal till the teams changed over, after which the' Welshmen never left the final issue in doubt. Shea "potted” two goals, kicked one from a penalty, arid placed one from a try obtained by himself. It was generally admitted that the .English forwards were too light and were outclassed by their opponcts.
