WATERSIDERS' CONFERENCE

* BETTER WAGES AND CONDITIONS. The national conference between' representatives of -waterside labour and employers of waterside labour lias now been in session in Wellington tor about twelve days, and there is no indication as to when the business wall be concluded. The discussions of conference are being discussed in committee, and no Btatementa have yet been made for publication. The result of the most important business will probably bo made known at the conclusion. For several, days a largo amount of Ibusiness lias been under consideration by special icommitDees, and tine conference is sitting intermittently. One of the chief matters being dealt with is the demands for improved wages and conditions formulated by the Waterside Workers' Federation.
