IMPROVED CONDITIONS DEMANDED ADD ROUND. FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION, DUNEDIN, February 24. A largo and representative meeting of* the New Zealand Post and Telegraph Officers’ Association (Dunedin Section) was held to-night, when the following resolution, was unanimously carried“ That this meeting of Dunedin officers, while duly appreciative of past efforts to improve the status ot the service, are yet quite dissatisfied with the sea'e of salaries. It conaiders that the maximum salary compatible with the skilled nature of the work of the officers of the seventhclass and the exalted cost nf living should he incvcosed to £325 per annum. It further considers that _ the means to afford this relief to officers should be obtained from an all-roi.
increase in rates, which at present are absurdly low. It is also of the opinion that in order to allay the present discontent the salaries in all branches should be raised in proportion. ’
