ROWING REGATTA
TO BE HEED IN WELLINGTON. It is proposed shortly to hold a rowing regatta in AVjbllington. In. our advertising columns attention is. called to members of the Wellington Rowing Club and Star Boating Club to a meeting to bo hold in tho latter’s club . rooms this evening at 8 p.m. It is hoped that a large number of members afid. rowing enthusiasts will attend, especially as tho decision whether to hold tho proposed regatta or not depends on their efforts. Any visiting or ex-oars-men are specially invited to be present. Members from the Wellington clubs attending tho various regattas throughout the Dominion have been struck by the fact that in the matter of enthusiasm in rowing Wellington is far behind most of tho districts visited, audit is in order to stimulate interest in this healthy sport that the above regatta is proposed; also to endeavour to bring Wellington, tbe capital city of the Dominion, in line- with, .if not ahead of, other vowing centres. Members of. the public who are interested in the above venture ore cordially invited to attend.
