A judgment debtor, obviously a hardworking and far from opulent man, appeared at the Magistrate’s Court in Christchurch, and offered tto pay off a debt at the rate of Is per week.' “A shilling a week?” said counsel for the creditor, very dubiously. "Are you a married man with a family?” “Yes, family of nine,” was the answer. “Nino? I accept the shilling a week, your Worship,” the lawyer assorted jj'ith alacriti', gnydat laughter.
