GOING UP
PRICE OF PETROL INCREASED. STATEMENT FOR THE PRESS. The Board of Trade advises that on account of the increases resulting from the unfavourable rate of exchange, and also the increased cost of transport and packing materials, increases. in prices of petrol as fixed oy Order-in-Council, of July 12th, 1918, have been found necessary. The maximum retail prices will, in future bo as follow: Wellington.—Per Case of not less than Bgals, class A, 80s; B, 2os.‘ Per tin oif not less than 4gals, lbs and I2s 6d. Less than 4gals, per gal, 4s and 3s 6d. Similar prices to the above will rule ■ at Auckland, Christchurch, and Dunedin. For A class petrol the price has been increased 3s per Sgals. Ait Napier and Tiniaru.—Glass A (Bgals‘ 30s Od, class B 2os 6d; Igals, 15s 3d and 12s 9d; less than 4gals, 4s Id and 3s 7d. At Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Gisiborno.—Class A (Bgala) 31s 63, class U 26s 6d; 4 gals, 15s 9d and 13s 3d; less Than 4gals, 4s 3d and 3s 9d. . At lilvercargill.—Class A (Sgals) 325, class B 275; 4gals, 16s and 13s 6d; less than 4gals, 4s 3d and 3s 9d. These increase* take effect as from tho 6th instant.
