The marriage took place on Tuesday at "Hawarden," Gladstone, the residence ol Mr and. Mrs W. H. Booth, of Bertram, third son. of the late Mr A. Booth, and I-allie Baphno, fourth daughter of Mr John Hughes, of Pahiatua. The Eev. B. Young, vicar of St. Mark’s, Carterton. officiated, the ceremony being performed in thes pacious drawing-room The wedding was a very quiet ono, only close relatives being present. The bride was daintily attired in a charming frocK of white georgette and white hat, and carried a beautiful bunch of pink roses. She was attended by Miss Elsie Oxley, of Patiatua, as bridesmaid, and was ’ given away by her brother, Mr Alan Hughes. The bridesmaid was attired in'a pretty gown of maize-coloured crepe do chine, with hat to match, and carried a lovely bouquet of Lady Roberts roses. Mr 33. B. Bontii was best man After the ceremony a reception was hold in the drawing-room, and the usual toasts were proposed and heartily honoured. Mr and Mrs Bertram Booth will tnko up their residence at Middle Bun. Scotland is in danger of losing not only its national beverage, but its national food.'
