THE PROTOCOL DEPARTURE OF GERMANS FROM PARIS. SEEKING FRESH INSTRUCTIONS. By Teleeraph—Press Association— Copyright Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. PARIS, November. 25. The departure of the members of the German Commission, with their full staff, created surprise in the Supreme Council, and a Note has been sent to Germany asking why" the Commission has returned .without signing the protocol, promising to carry out the unfulfilled terms of the Armistice, and also inquiring when Germany intends to sign it. The newspaper "L'Homme Libro attributes the departure of the delegation to the postponement of ratification by the United States. A Berlin wireless message states: It is officially announced that the return of th« Commission was necessary so that it could receive fresh instructions in reference to the Scapa Flow sinkings. The suggestion that the journey is connected with America's attitude is unfounded. Geremany is desirous of hastening, not delaying, peace. (Received November 30, 11 p.m.) BERLIN, November 26. The "Tagoblatt" states t>hat the commission will return to Paris after receiving fresh Government instructions. ALLOTMENT OF U-BOATS. (Received November 30, 5.5 p.m.) PARIS, November 29. i The Supreme Council has allotted ten U-boats to France. The remainder aro to be destroyed. DISPOSAL OF SEIZED WARSHIPS. PARIS, November 28. The Supreme Council has decided to demolish the remaining ships of" the German Fleet in the Allies' custody. (Reuter's Telegram.) PARIS, November 28. The Supreme Council has ordered the destruction of all the enemy warships except those given to France and Italy to compensate for their losses. BRITISH SUGGESTION ADOPTED. (Renter's Telegram.) The Supreme Council has adopted the •British suggestion to award tho German war fleet as follows: Britain receives 70 per cent, of tho total tonnage, France and Italy 10, Japan 8, and America 2. almsfusll. BERLIN, November 28. Gormany intends to ■ refuse tito demands of. tho Entente for docks and dredges to set off the Scapa. Flow sinkings, and will propose to refer the question to Tho Hague Tribunal. "The Now York Times" Washington correspondent states that a small group of Republican Senators stato that it is improbable tho Republicans will enter into any compromiso unless tho Democrats accept thd Treaty with practically all Senator Lodge's reservations. Senator Jones, Republican, made a statement that the Democrats must come to the Republicans if they wish a compromise. Tho Democrats must make all concessions.
