A mass meeting of the men, convened by the London Schoolmasters' Association, recently discussed their future prospects on the bvpothesis that equal pay lor women would mean (hat ir.cn 'teachers would receive no increase whatever, hue that-it would prevent just remuneration. Mr Korbert Sprigger. the president, repudiated, on behalf of Iho men, any inimical feeling towards women teachers or towards women in general. Equal pay was worthy of consideration only as a 'Utopian idea. Teachers were necessarilv idealists, but it was impossible to , feed young children on Weals.
