Sir Ernest Cassel is handing over to 6even trustees, including Mr Asquith, Mr Balfour, Lord Haldane, Mr H. A. L. Fisher (Minister for Education), Mr Sidney Webb, and Miss Philippa Fawcett, half a million sterling for the promotion of the education of workmen, scholarships for the sons and daughters of workmen, tho assistance of colleges for the higher education of women,- and the promotion of ■ -'■ the gtudy of-foreign languages.
