She will, as previously announced, &o from Lyttelton direct to Napier. Passengers for Wellington will be brought on by the ferry steamer from Lyttelton. I The congestion of cargo at Wellington for Auckland, it is explained by the Union Co., is attributable solely to the shortage of shipping. The Mapourika was diverted from the Auckland-Welling-ton runnine to the Wellington-Picton-Nelson service to permit of the Pateena being overhauled. It is probable that when the Pateena is able to resume running the Mapourika will revert to her former.'service. 'CARGO FOR NAPIER. Johnston and Co. advise that as the Ripple is going on the alip for overhaul on Monday she will not make her usual trip from Wellington to Napier and Gisborne next week. Commencing next Tuesday afternoon, the - Mararon. and Maori will leave Wellington; ..day about, at 4 p.m.. instead of at 3.30 p.m. This alteration has been made as the days are lengthening and thus permit of the navigation of Cook Strait in daylight at a iater time as the summer advances.
