WIRELESS STATION OPENED..' The Acting-Prime Minister (Sir Jame s Allen) nas received "the following wireless message from Mr H. W. Piatts (Resident Commissioner, Uarotonga;: Upon the occasion of the opening of the wireless station, the European community and the' Arikia of Kaxotonga, on behalf of the native race, desire to thank you for the generous provision by your Government of Wilis valuable and important link in the communications of the Empire." They congratulate you upon the great panNew Zealand is - playing- in the war, and they welcome and support your determination that our neighbouring islands shall never again be in German hands.
To this Sir James Allen sent yesterday morning the following reply: The Government and the people of New Zealand rejoice in closer connection with the European community and the Arikis of Rarotonga, arid gratefully acknowledge the loyalty and patriotism which prompted Rarotonga to send its sons.to unite..with the Empire in its determination to secure freedom. New Zealand is hound to stand hy Rarotonga and the neighbouring islands, and will not fail to do so.
