PORT NICHOLSON YACHT CLUB
A committee meeting of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club was held bn Wednesday. Present : Messrs W. Duncan (commodore). H. McComish (vice-commodore), B. Clarke (rear-commodore), E. Hannan, A. Wilkinson. H. Smith. H. Croucher, H. Bdlind. J. E. Cull, J. Gendoll, G. McLfan (hon. secretary). Major A. Petherick (hon. treasurer). The club course has been fixed from Clyde quay wharf outside Jerningham buoy to Pin naolo buoy and return. Captain T. H. Chudlev was elected vice-president and the following new members were elected: C. W. Chilman, Major A. Hollis, A. J, Ibbetson. G, F. Fox, W. McComish, K. i -Kenzie. Yachts were classified as follows : First-claps.—Waitangi, Eona, White Heather, Marangi, Kotiri 11., Atalanta, Watrere 11.. Viola. Second-class. lolanthe, Galata, Wairore 1., Nanette, Venus, Viking, Windward, Rawene. Lizzie. Third-ola'ss. Ethel. Muritai, Amai, Waimoa. Miru. Nifcau. The committee decided to hold a carnival in aid of patriotic objects on. a suitable date. The opening dny was fixed "for November 9th. =l======
