TRAMWAY TROUBLE
SHIFT MEETINGS HELD MEN STILL REMAIN FIRM. Yesterday the tramwaymea held twn "shift" meetings, one in the morning and the other in the evening. At these two meetings resolutions 1 were unanimously carried to the effect that the men still adhere to their decision in. refusing the offer of the City Council of the 10 per cent, bonus on ordinary time. A letter from the general manager of the tramways (Mr W. H. Morton) was read at each meeting. This letter contained the proposal for the limited bonus. There was nothing new yesterday in regard to the legal position of the men. The advent of wet weather" about rush hour yesterday evening brought about the most serious overcrowding witnessed during the present trouble. The cars were stormed at every stop-ping-place, and people.squeezed on cars that were already dangerously, overcrowded. _____
