Beattie, who was seriously injured in the collision between tho north train and a motor lorry ho was driving yesterday afternoon, may lose tho sight of one eye. Ho had a miraculous escape from death. Driver Jack Miller, of Masterton, has been invalided home, and is duo to reach New Zealand in a fortnight. tßwgonnt J. W. Clayson, M.M., of Ekctnhunn, has boon killed in action.
