CRYSTALATE CUP COMPETITION. Tho final of the above championship was played in Messrs Aicock and Co. s showrooms last night before a large audience of interested spectators, iha contestants were A. Congdon (Farmers and Commercial Club, and. j. Key (Wellington Working Men's Club). The game was particularly interesting, and Congdon gave a fine .inhibition of all-round billiards, his losing hazards strokes being played perfectly. Key commenced well and at the beginning of the gamo it looked as if Congdon would- have to play all put to win, but by consistent play the latter' gradually got ahead and ran to lie 500 points when Key’s score stood at' 298. Tho best breaks were: Congdon, 52, 35. 35, 31; Key, 39 . 28, 35, 22 By securing tho 1918 championship Congdon now wins tho cup outright, having won it on four previous occasions. At tho conclusion of tho game the general manager of Messrs Aicock and Co., l.td., presented tho prizes that nad been won. Tho cup, together with a gold medal, were presented to A. Congdon, the set of balls that had been used in tho tournament was banned to JKey as ’■unnor-np, and a earn and caso to W. N. Tucker for having made tho biggest break outside ot tho prize-win-ners during the tournament.
