WONDERFUL WAIRARAPA
HANDSOME COPPER TRAIL CONTRIBUTION.
At the invitation of the delegates of the Wairarapa Patriotic Society delegates and the ladies of the Wairarapa Red Cross Society, tho Hon. T. M. AVilford visited the Wairarapa yester-, day morning to give an address on th'o objects and aims of tho Red Cross and to appeal for assistance from the Wairarapa district for tho Rod Cross Copper Trail. At the Municipal Buildings, Masterton, Mr Wilford addressed the ladies, and at tho A. and P. Building ho addressed tho men.
At the conclusion of his address, Mr Hugh Morrison, tho president, thanked Mr Wilford for his able address, and Mr Wilford then retired to leave tho delegates to deliberate. Sir Walter Buchanan said that they had listened to ono of tho most stirring appeals that could bo made to any body of men. Tho mooting decided to hand over to tho ladies of the Wairarapa Red Cross £IO,OOO for the Red Cross Copper Trail, and members stated that they wore satisfied that Wairarapa would double that contribution • before October 24th. »
