STEAMER ASHORE
ON LORD HOWE ISLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright SYDNEY. June 13The Buna, Philp and Cb.'a steamer Makambo, 1159 tons, is ashore at Lord Howe Island. By Telegraph—PreS3 Association—Ccpyritfht (Received June 18, 10.55 p.m.) SYDNEY, Juno 18. The Makambo's captain sent a wireless message to-day stating that the pumps are keeping the water under control, and he hopes to refloat the vessel next tide. All the passengers were safely landed. The tug dispatched from Sydney with refloating gear should reach Lord Howe Island tomorrow.
