WAR-NAME TOWNS
It has been decided by the Parliament of South Australia that all towns in the Stato bearing names of German origin are to bo renamed, and the following ig tho first list of such towns, with tho new names:— I Old Name. ' New Name Grunthnl .' Verdnn. Ifandorf Ambleside TJombur;? Haig Kaisertuhl Mount Kitchener Klemzig Gaza. Krichauff Beatty Lobothal Tweedvale Neukirch Dunchurch. Mecklenburg Gomorsal. Ohventhal Olivedale. Petersburg .„ Peterborough Rhine nill Mons River Tthiuo (NT.) ... Tho Somme Liver Bhine (S.) ... The Marne. Rhino Villa Cambrai ™" ne Jellicoo. Rhino (S.) .Tutlnnd. Rosenthal Eosedale. ' Schork Sturdee. Schomburg Maude. Seppelts Dorrien. Stoinfield Stonefield Snmmcrfoldt : Summcrfiold. Von Doussa Allcnby. Tho Government have had in view the inculcation in the minds of children of a knowledgo of events connected with tho war. and when learning tho geography of South Australia the war names will impress on their minds the great part Australia played in the groat war.
