DEATH OF LANDS RANGER
Press Association. TAUMARUNUI, Juno 17. Mr W. J. Price, Crown Lands Ranger, m the Wellington district, who left his homo at Piriaka at 3 o'clock on Sunday morning, failed to return. He had been suffering from an aggravated term of mumps for a week and as he complained of cold his wife went to niako him a hot poultice. Sho heard the click of the door and followed him quickly, but was too late to find her husband She reported the matter to the neighbours in tho scattered district and search parties were out all day Sunday, a dressing-gown was found by the Wanganui river half a mile away. Further searrih was made to-day, and the body was found at 2 o clock jwsr Matapuna railway bridge. Deceased's temperature -nns abnormal and ho would have died from exposure in any case. Deceased leaves a widow and three children.
