In view of the result of the London Conference, the organisers of the Stockholm Conference have fully abandoned the idea of meeting on the 9th. The Conference has been adjourned indefinitely. September 3. ‘‘Tidcns Toga” declares that a wellinformed correspondent states that the U-boats now number 300, including 1500-ton submarine cruisers, each carrying a crew of forty to fifty men and carrying upwards of fifty torpedoes and many shells. Some are fitted out as minelayers.
