Ho has been allotted 12.5, 2lb below the maximum. Bnt there is said to be no possibility of him facing the starter. Waimai is the next on the list. H© has four •pounds less, hut his presence just now in Australia suggests that he may not be a starter at Edccarton. Crib has been allotted 11.13, and Master Strowan, who defeated him at Trentham at a difference in the winner’s favour of 291 b, l as 10.11. Those two have been brought nearer together by four pounds, which appears to be in favour o£ Master Strowan.

In the Grand National Hurdles El Gallo again heads the list with 11.9. Art has been given 11.8 and Rewi Poto has 11.1. Several of the horses weighted are engaged in both the Steeplechase and the Hurdles, and it may be hard to know which event will be contested by them. Bowi Poto would appear to be nicely placed. He is also engaged in the Winter Cup, but his aptitude for jumping would suggest his inclusion in the field for the Hurdles. Tararu Jack and Bon Eeve are on the same mark With 10.9, four pounds less than Leonta and Kooya, both of whom are in-and-out customers.

Bewi Poto, who is engaged in the Hurdles, appears in the Winter Cup as the best in the race, the weight being 11,2. He will probably be found amongst the jumpers. Kauri King, who has been a most consistent performer, has 10.8 and Parisian Diamond hop 10.7. The latter looks well, and so does Miss De Yal, who is one pound lower down. Raumanu whiri has been allotted 9.13, and must accept. There are a grSat number of entries who cannot possibly get tho mile, and can consequently he forgotten.
