A GENEROUS BEQUEST. THE FRANK GRADY COLLECTION. Tho Minister for internal Affairs (the Hon. G. W. Russell! has received a letter from Mrs Frank Grady, of The Terraco, Wellington, stating that it was the wish of her late husband that » selection should be made from the collection of pictures which he fathered together during his lifetime, £nd that the pictures chosen should be placed in the National Gallery ot Art, when it is established. Yesterday the Minister made a careful inspection ot tho collection, and he has intimated to Mrs Grady his acceptance of her generous offer. In due course a selection will ho made of tho pictures most suitable for the National Gallery, preference being given to works by New Zealand artists, amongst whom may be mentioned Barraud. Gully and Kate Sperry, and pictures by English artists which are of special merit. The pictures will remain at Mrs Grady’s residence until the National Gallery is erected, and will tlfen he transferred to it. where they will he known as tho Frank Grady collection.
