The coastal steamer Opawa, which has been under repair at Blenheim, will not be back at Wellington before next Tuesday. The Kahika is now fixed to sail from Wellington at noon to-day for Westport. . , At noon to-day the Kjttawa is expected to get away from Wellington for Lyttelton. The South Taranaki Oo.’e Steamer Haw era left Patea last evening for Tarakoho to load cement for the former port. The vessel is due back at Wellington on Tuesday morning from Patea, and will sail On the return trip in tho evening. The Komata is to sail from, Westport to-day for Wellington, where sho is due to-morrow. The vessel will sail on the return trip on Tuesday. The Eastbourne Council’s steamer Duchess is to be, brought off the Wellington patent slip to-day after an extensive general overhaul. The vessel will resume running about next Saturday. The coastal steamer John is duo back at AVellington at midday to-day from Wanganui, and an endeavour, will be made to dispatch the vessel this evening for Timaru, Oamaru, and Dunedin. The Karu is to leave Qreymouth today with a load of timber for Wellington. The vessel is due here on Monday. She is to load general cargo at Welling-

ton, and will sail on Wednesday for New Plymouth. The Kini -is to leave Greymouth at midday to-day with a load of coal for .Miramar. THEI HINEMOA. The Marine Department was advised yesterday that the crew of the Government steamer Hinemoa had repaired the beacon at Gull Rock (near Auckland) and is now loading stores and bunkering at Auckland. The vessel will sail early on Monday morning in continuation of her round trip to the northern lighthouses. THE KOUTUNUI. Ricnardson 'and Co.’s steamer Kontunui will arrive back at Wellington this morning from East Coast stations, and will sail this evening for PiCton to load chad for the bays north of Gisborne. j, THE NGAKUTA TROUBLE. Two members -of the late crew of the Ngakuta .stated yesterday that the trouble on the vessel was not due to any particular two. members of the crow. They allege that the dispute arose over the food that was supplied. This, the men allege was on occasions unlit lor human consumption, and they cite n special case when the vessel was at another port recently. The Blackball Comoanr the firemen stated, pride tfteiuselves on the manner the crews of their vessels are catered for in regard to food, but two days before the steamer reached Wellington from another port the meat served out was alleged to be so bad that it had to bo “dumped.” Representatives of the owners of the vessel give an emphatic denial of the allegations concerning the quality of the food on the Ngukuta. As firemen are not forthcoming it has been decided to proceed with the periodical overhaul of the vessel at Wellington, which was due at the end of this month.
