PUBLIC TRUST OFFICERS DECISION OF MILITARY SERVICE BOARD. BETTER SALARIES WANTED. The First Wellington Military Service Board yesterday gave its decision with regard to tho appeals made on behalf of six Public Trust officers which were heard on June 2nd. The chairman (Mr D. G. A. Cooper, S.M.) intimated that in the cases of William R. Millier, Walter H. Pearce, Thomas D. Dwyer, Peter A. Dovorill, and Martin W. Waters the board would recommend leave until September Ist next. In the case of George Muller, as he had been turned down ns medically unfit, the appeal would be dismissed. ‘‘The board,” continued the chairman, “discussed the cases at some length, and came, to the conclusion that sufficient inducement by way of salary has not been offered for temporary appointments for responsible positions in the Public Trust Office. It is necessary to get good men to nil responsible places.” Mr J. W. Alacdonald (tho departmental solicitor): “Will you forward that recommendation to tho proper authorities?” The chairman: “Y*es. ’
