CHRISTCHURCH, April 0. ■Many soldiers returning to \Vellmgton from their Easter leavo in the south were hold up at Lyttelton tonight owing to tlio Mararoa being a lull boat. A good number bad their berths booked, but all the soldiers arriving by the second express wore refused admission'to the ferry steamer. About 200 intending passengers were left on the wharf. ' ■ , The blockage was caused by the fact that there was only one vessel available for return of passengers who came ■south by the Maori on Wednesday and the Mararoa and To Anau on Thursdifficulty was experienced by tho disappointed and certain other passengers in obtaining accommodation in the city.,
