_ -ELECTORS’ ASSOCIATION..MEETS

At the annual meeting of tho Vogellowjt and Morningtou Municipal Eleo- ' tors’ Association this week Mr G. D. iiewett occupied-the chair, and there was a fair attendance of members. The annual report stated‘The' committee appointed to watch the interests of the ratepayers"of"this‘ progressive'district has, .during the past year, transacted a good deal of The committee desires to thank the City Council for the work which has already been ae- , complished. . X’here is still much to be done, but while there are other urgent works needed in tho city. and suburbs it is .felt advisable to refrain from bringing undue pressure to bear upon;)the council to. expedite necessary works 1 at this juncture, and it is hoped that, this’ suburb —one of the oldest in tne city will not be forgotten at the proper time, it is also-hoped that the authorities,,will not pass this suburb when considering -the matter of homey for workers. 'While ■other suburbs-are connected with tramways, the suburb of Vogeltown has been neglected. The Unking up of the Wallace street tram-Service with Hutcheson road is of vital importance, and should he taken in hand as soon as possible.” The balance-sheet showed the association to bo in a sound financial' position. The report and balance-sheet were adopted without discussion. • •. Councillor Frost: attended by invitation and replied to several Questions. The election of officers resulted Pre-.-sident, Mr G. D.
