FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
BOARD OF THREE SET UP TO CONSUMER SOLDIERS’ CLAIMS. The following hoard has been sot up Under the regulations for giving assistance to soldiers up to £2 per work to enable them to meet their obligations in regard to rent, interest on mortgages, instalment purchase payments, and so forth: —Messrs T. S. Konaldson (Public Trust Office), tV alter Bethune (of Bethune and Co., Etd., estate agents, etc.), and Chilman (lato of the Hank of New Zealand). Tlio board will deal for the .Minister for Defence (the lion. Sir James Allen) wibh the. reeommendntions made by the Military Service Hoards, and also with the applications sent to the .Minister by those who have already enlisted and with those who may ho sent to him hy ballot men who desire assistance, hut do not wish to appeal for exemption from military service. It is expected that the hoard will begin their work within a week or so.
