RUGBY FOOTBALL
SELWYN CLUB. The fifteenth annual meeting of the Selwyn Football Club was held at Scott's tea rooms last evening. Mr N. Austin, the president, occupied the chair, and there were 43 members in attendance. The annual report and balance-sheet showed a credit balance of .£l6 14s Sd. No fewer than fifteen members had lost their lives at the front, comprising Messrs I. Leeks, O. Leeks, C. Leeks, A. Harris, J. McKegan, J. Given, J. Faulkner, P. Sheeran, H. Field, A. Mcßae, C Haughey, F. Desmond, A. Callum, H. Easton, and L. Larkin. Altogether 92 members of the club had enlisted. Six members had been wounded. A vote of sympathy with the relatives of those who had fallen was passed. A vote of thanks to those who had donated trophies was carried. The election of office-bearers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, lir J. Austin-; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Watt, F. Myers, J. Moses, and H. Nash, in addition to those who were elected last year; club captain, Mr F. Cooper; hon. sec., Mr H. Trotter; hon. treasurer, Mr H. Buck; man, agement committee, Messrs A. Lindsay, W. Roberts, H. Beck, E. Taylor, J. Haydn; delegates to Wellington Rugby Union. Messrs P. Cooper, W. Roberts, and H. Buck; auditors, Messrs L. Flowers and N. Austin; match committee, Messrs McPhee, Cooper, and Buck.
