SECOND PATENT SLIP THE DRAFT AGREEMENT APPROVED. The monthly meeting of tho 'Welling* ton Harbour Board was held last night. Mr C. E. Danioll (chairman) presiding. Tho members also present wore Messrs R. Fletcher. M.P., B. E. Sinclair, A. McParlane J. G. Cobbe, J. W. McEvran. W. T. Hildreth, A. H. Hindmarsh. M.P., R. A. "Wright. M.P., J. G. Harknees, W. Cable, H. L. Nathan and C. AV. Joncn The bank pass books showed a current account credit balance of .£28,259 14s 6d; : an imprest account credit balanco of *£2865 19s 8d: and .£60,000 on Hied deposit. , The following payments wore approved: —For accounts and wages, 2324,433 8s;. for, progress payments on contracts, *64115 12s 2d; for salaries for March, 26858 8s 9d; total. 2629,406 8s lid. The chairman reported, that the Wellington Citv Council had approved of the board's selection of Fryatt quay and Cornwell street for the names of two streets on the board's Waterloo quay reclamation; that the contract for additions to Day’s Bay wharf had been completed on March 17th, 1917; that the triennial examination of the Harbour Board's superannuation fund Is now being carried out by the actuary of the New Zealand Government Insurance Department. ,1 The chairman added that the engineer was preparing plans for a suitable memorial for Captain Fryatt and young Cornwell. • AN OBSTACLE REMOVED.

On the recommendation of the wharves and accounts committee the - board approved unanimously tho draft agreement (as submitted and recommended by the board's solicitors) between the Wellington City Council, the Wellington Patent Slip Company. Limited, the Union Steam. Ship Company of New Zealand, Limit-! ed. and the board re the second patent! slip, and resolved that the seal of the 1 board be affixed to the engrossment thereof.
