SOUTHERN GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Frees Association. CHRISTCHURCH. January 25. Very iitie new wheat (is offering in this market, and-what ie being bought is for fowl feed. Sales during, the laat. few days have been, made at 5s Id .to 5s 2d at country stations. Offerings of oats are aj/so scarce, no further sales being reported. The bailey offering varies considerably in Quality, prime malting being very scarce. Sales have been made at 4s to 5s 6d at country stations. Thin grain, fit only for . feed, is practically unsaleable, as growers are asking too much. Some prime samples,of South Australian and Victorian barley have been offered. The Quality is very much better than the best locally grown this season, caps barley, from Gisborne and Hawke s Bay. is being imported for seed for sowing this autumn. Tbs quality is very good.
