ELEVEN ARRESTS

RAID IN HAINING STREET PAKAPOO AND THE DKOvVSY WEED. A police descent in force last evening caused somewhat of a flutter in Raining street. Three houses were ' raided—No. 0, by Senior .Sergeant Dew and Constables Wilson and Cox; No. 44, by Sergeant Tlieby and Constables O'Connor and Wallace; and No. 46', by Sergeant Murphy and Constables Colbounie, Tarrant .and Harvey. Jn each place, it is alleged ; the game of pukapoo was being played, while opium was also found in Nos. 44 and 46. li all, five Europeans and six Chinese were arrested as the result of tho raid, and they will be brought up at tha Magistrate's.
