COMPULSORY CONFERENCE WANTED. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright SYDNEY, October 11. Mr Lawrence, secretary of the Merchant Service Guild, announces that it is impossible to settle the 244 claims for increases ■which the guild Is making without the intervention of the Arbitration Court. The guild, therefore, is asking for a compulsory conference.
