INVESTIGATING LOAN PROSPECTS.

Inquiries which New South Wales and some of the other States are making in London and America as to tho prospects of floating loans indicate that the London market is unfavourable to participating in public works flotations, while American financiers are willing to lend on certain terms .and .at a'rate considerably enhanced upon what was previously paid far borrowed money.
