Jensen, stated in the Federal House that owing to the Imperial Government utilising a number of’ military transports in connection with food supplies, he anticipated it would be necessary to make further inroads on the inter-State fleet. At present the Commonwealth had the third largest shipping fleet in the world under its control, numbering eighty-five vessels.
